Desert Safari At Sam Sand Dunes Desert Safari At Sam Sand Dunes   Desert Safari at Sam Sand Dunes must be included in the places to visit in Jaisalmer in two days.  Now I was a different person on Day 2 as the fervor of the locals had enveloped me. I was up and about to allow an adventurous day to unfold the top 5 exciting experiences of Jaisalmer Desert Safari.
  • SAND DUNES

Our desert safari started from the Sam Sand Dunes; located 45 km away from the city of Jaisalmer. Sand dunes are the mounds of sand that are formed by the wind.  They move with strong winds and dune fields in deserts are a sight to behold.
  • CAMEL SAFARI

We had to choose from camel or jeep safaris. We chose the decked up camels. They are noisy fellows with a robust built yet friendly demeanor. As ‘Ship of the Desert’, camels take us around the desert as they are best adapted to the hot, dry desert climate. Yes! Their thick coat reflects sunlight and long legs keep their bodies farther away from the hot desert land.   Decked Up Camels Decked Up Camels
  • THE SUNSET AT SAM DUNES

The ultimate attraction of the desert safari in Jaisalmer is the sunset point. It is a spectacular time when the sky dips in shades of orange and the night sky darken to invite the stars to shine. This sight is natural for the locals but for travelers it is a scene that stays etched as the most beautiful memory of a lifetime.
  • BONFIRE AND TRADITIONAL DANCE PERFORMANCE

Kalbelia is the ancient folk dance form that we get to witness during the desert safari. It is performed by Kalbelia women who are snake enchanters. These women trade in snake poison and perform to the tune of the ‘Been’. The movement of the dancers attired in black is extremely graceful and interestingly similar to that of snakes. This folk dance is performed at night in front of a bon fire. https://youtu.be/PofLuZJxkVQ
  • SHOPPING AT JAISALMER

The women of Jaisalmer are skilled to do patch work, mirror work, and embroidery on both cotton and silk. Fine woollen carpets and durries are also made here from the sheep wool.  The other well-crafted products include bed spreads, dresses, etc. The places to visit in Jaisalmer in two days must include a shopping spree to take back studded gifts for loved ones.   Exquisite Gifts From Jaisalmer Exquisite Gifts From Jaisalmer   The sand dunes overwhelm but give the humbling message to embrace winds of change and to keep moving on by embracing life when the sun sets them ablaze or the night cools them down.   For complete information: http://tourism.rajasthan.gov.in/jaisalmer https://www.makemytrip.com/travel-guide/jaisalmer/camel-safari-adventure.html https://www.tourmyindia.com/genral_information/fair_festival/jaisalmer-desert-festival.html http://www.springcamps.in/folk-dance-in-jaisalmer.html https://www.thrillophilia.com/tours/camel-safari-jaisalmer   Best Time to Visit: November to March
