  Celebrating Monastic Festival   Every year in January three day long Torgya festival is celebrated at the Tawang Monastery. In this Monastic festival the monks performs dance called Chham wearing their traditional attire Cham-lang. This festival is celebrated to chase out the evil spirit and bring prosperity and happiness for people and crops. In February-march Losar festival is celebrated to commemorate the Tibetan New Year. The Monpa men wear Tibetan Chugba and the women wear red coloured gown called Shingka and perform Pantomime dances.

• Tawang Monastery

  Snow clad Tawang Monastery   Tawang Monastery is one of the most sacred religious centres for Buddhists. The monastery is believed to be 400 years old and it houses a huge statue of Lord Buddha. • Shungatser or Madhuri Lake
