Bangalore has been welcoming various cuisines across the world. Various restaurants in the city celebrate Pan Asian cuisine and Sriracha is one of them. Sriracha is distinctive from all the others in the fact that it will take you on a delightful journey of the Orient. The outlandish menu has been curated by the chefs who have its inspirations traveling different Asian Countries- Thailand, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and Singapore. Sriracha is a vivid example of the marriage between the traditional and the contemporary. The Indiranagar restaurant in Bangalore offers two unique experiences which have been inspired solely from East Asia travels. One of the experiences is the Robata Grill with a Sriracha twist where one can experience the chefs in action, using the grill to create flavourful dishes. Sriracha provides you an opportunity to explore the Japanese method of cooking- Robatayaki/ Robata Grill. This style of cooking is similar to barbecue in which the food items are cooked at varying speeds over hot charcoal. Many Japanese restaurants, both in Japan and abroad, specializing in this style of food preparation. The Fresh Turmeric and Red Chili King Prawns were good to taste which was served with plum and pineapple salsa. The crunchy prawns with the salsa were complementing well. The Tamarind and Lemon Grass chicken too stood out well when had a bite brushed in a spiced lemon dip. My personal favorites were the Pork Belly presented with the Char Su sauce. Unlike other places in the city, the pork was tender and not chewy. In fact, it was juicy! Pan Asian, bananivista King Prawns While I was enjoying the food, I ordered Ruby Saigon, mocktail (a mix of apple juice, grapes, cinnamon, Hibiscus tea, Mint), Digin, cocktail and Old Fashion (whiskey). And it had a sweet natural taste which was favourable to the palate. Sriracha has introduced for the first time in India. The experience of a fascinating Live Charcoal Experience placed in the middle of two special dining experiences can be booked well in advance. This Cambodian barbeque is a traditional way of relishing the meats and vegetables. You can either go for chicken, pork, or beef and can stuff your bowls with a large variety of vegetables. The barbeque set up comprises of a round metal grill which is placed on A Live Charcoal “Phnom Plung” or “Fire Mountain” which is filled with soup outside. The grilling is done on the dome in the center of the Khmer Barbeque. Asian Stock is filled outside the grilling dome, along with fresh assorted vegetables and noodles. One can relish this with jasmine rice. Pan Asian, bananivista Cambodian Barbeque Spring Rolls are an exquisite part of Pan Asian cuisine. The thin rice paper wrap filled with fresh red chili, lettuce, garlic, scallion, carrot, basil, cucumber, glass noodles, bean sprouts along with wild mushrooms and truffle oil. It is presented with a glaze of rice vinegar and sweet soy dressing. Pan Asian, bananivista Spring Rolls The main course was a stunner! Amok Trey-It is a traditional Cambodian fish dish, Red Snapper was the catch of the day. The fish is steamed beautifully in banana leaves and is presented in a cup of thick coconut milk, egg and kroeung batter. The dish is served with Jasmine rice which has a pleasant aroma of its own. Pan Asian, bananivista Amok Trey How can we not have the Dimsums? Sriracha didn’t fail to show their creativity even with Dimsums. The vegetarians can relish the roasted pumpkin and water chestnut dumplings toasted with sesame seeds and spiced rice vinegar. The charcoal seafood Dimsums best suit for the non-vegetarians.
