Learn How Music Can Affect Your Lives

The famous author Jane Swan had once quoted “How is that music can, without words, evoke our laughter, our fears, our highest aspirations?”   Music, the beautiful combination of sounds and silent moments- the vocal and instrumental sounds which express an emotion and produce a form of beauty and harmony. The word means the Art of Muses in the Greek Culture.   Image Courtesy: quotefancy.com   It has the power to change people’s lives. It helps people stay calm and happy, de-stress and enjoys life. Feelings that are difficult to express finds a way through music. It has the dormant to swing your mood, boost the atmosphere and revive the soul.   The impact of music in someone’s life could be deeply understood from the way it reforms the prisoners in Haryana jail. A drive called “Project Dhun” has been started in Bhondsi Jail of Haryana to give prisoners a new source of vocation and to provide them with a platform to showcase their talents. Kiran Bedi, the first woman to join Indian police is also a part of this initiative and believes that this will help the incarcerators be duly accepted in the society. Through this initiative, the prisoners would be able to dwell well within the society after their prison term. “Music helps me forget the crimes I committed & the dark memories I have, and I find peace of mind in it”, says one of the prisoners indulged in the project.   BananiVista, music Image Courtesy: The Indian Express   A Bollywood movie “Lucknow Central” directed by Ranjit Tiwari was a story inspired by the real-life Lucknow based band “Healing Hearts”. This band was formed by twelve jailbirds who were sentenced to life imprisonment and had no hopes left towards life. Music entered their lives and brought a twist in their lives as now this band performs at various events and has gained huge popularity. With music, they have something to look upon in life and rely on. It has given new hopes to live.   It is a language understood by everyone. Researchers believe that someone’s choice of music deeply affects his ability to learn and accomplish tasks. It helps bind people together. The newer generations get to understand the older generations and their lifestyle well enough through the music available for years. In ancient times, people used to consider it as a form of communication that affects people’s emotions without words. Listening to music helps to enhance the intensity and duration of concentration.   Image Courtesy: Zee News   Now that we know so much about music and its benefits, let us work upon increasing the count of it in our playlists and improving the quality that reaches us.   I would like to end up on a quote by the great philosopher Plato, Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.   For more such interesting stories, follow us on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram.
