We Indians are obsessed with Italian food. Believe it or not, Italian cuisine is much more than pizza and pasta. Italian cuisine is all about its indigenous and rustic flavors from the various parts of Italy. Until and unless one will get to taste, one shouldn't imagine how unique and exotic these flavors are. We chose Alfresco by Bene to get a taste of Italy and on our surprise, Bene succeeded to give us a wonderful experience. We were served different varieties of bread- Pesto Focassia, Onion Focassia, Oregano Focasia, Bread sticks. Those were served with freshly prepared dips namely- Bell Pepper sauce, sundried tomato and blue cheese. I personally love Oregano Focasia with blue cheese.     Italian, bananivista Spread of different breads We were served a delicious soup, Zappa Di Pomodoro, rich in tomato and cheese. The soup was creamy as it comes with the richness of stracciata cheese, pesto sauce rosemary, and garlic crouton. Not forget to mention that the dish has the goodness of homegrown tomatoes. Italian, bananivista Zappa Di Pomodoro   If you are a health freak and love eating fresh green leaves and fruits, La Fruttarola is just meant for you. This fruit salad refreshes you as it comprises of romaine lettuce, fresh seasonal fruits (oranges and dices of apples), walnuts, nuts, peanuts, pistachio, all tossed in balsamic vinegar. Italian, bananivista La Fruttarola   As we were done with the appetizers, we were eagerly waiting for our main course. The main course comprises of dishes which were given a twist by Chef Roberto and indeed were delicious. The first dish presented was Pasta Caprese, which was a Veg pasta stuffed with burrata cheese. This pasta is a handmade eggless pasta served with burrata cheese, tomato sauce, basil sauce, and crispy leeks. Being a non-vegetarian, I enjoyed Tortelli alla amatriciana. This is a twist given by the chef where the stuffing of the pasta is done with pork cheeks. This handmade tortelli served with amatriciana and tomato sauce, crispy pancetta and butter. Italian, bananivista Tortelli alla amatriciana Not but the last, we enjoyed the Lemon and Cinnamon sorbet which worked well on a hot summer afternoon. Italian, bananivista Lemon and Cinnamon sorbet Overall, it is a nice experience which brings all the Italian emotions perfectly on the table.
