Every generation has its anthem. That one song that identifies them, that one song they will never fail to identify. This generation that hates early mornings, this generation that prefers its dreams to be big and bold, this generation of movers and shakers and doers and dreamers, it too calls for an anthem. A song slinging the freshest tunes, filled with the slickest licks, that checks off all the right ticks. Give this generation the anthem they crave. Give them Subah, and let the dreams begin. This spring listen to the track SUBAH by Faridkot. It's inspired by old school 80s dance music fused with urban Indian sounds and sensibilities.

Faridkot was formed in 2008 when IP and Raj came together to make some fun and exciting original music.

Their early beginnings were marked by an appearance on Channel V's Launchpad in 2009. Their first album, Ek, released with Times Music in 2011, came soon after. Ek got critical as well as commercial acclaim with 2 of the songs Haal – e – Dil and Laila hitting the top 10 spots in Radio Mirchi's Hitlist for more than 3 months, the first for any band from the country in years. Calling the genre Confused Pop, Faridkot has consistently released a variety of music. This was evident in their second album Phir Se, which was released on Universal Music in 2014. In this, they left their pop-rock roots and explored more psychedelic and heavier sounds. As the Rolling Stone review aptly put it "Faridkot go against all pop conventions despite retaining some elements of pop (like on the semi-acoustic song "Suno") on Phir Se? with the average song length touching five minutes. There's not a dull moment on Phir Se? and for a band that promotes free-living and stargazing, you shouldn't expect any different."

Faridkot has composed the Hindi theme track for "The Expendables 3"(feat. Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Harrison Ford, Jason Statham, etc.), the first for any band in India.

They also composed the title track for the Bollywood movie "Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene".

"Ek" was nominated for Best Album in the Jack Daniel's Rock Awards. "Madho" was nominated for Best Song.

"Phir Se?" was nominated for the GIMA awards in the Best Rock Album Category. Faridkot recently crossed the borders into Kabul, Afghanistan in December where they played the "Vote for Peace" concert with Noori from Pakistan.
