  • Agra

This city needs no introduction to anyone. Occupying its position as one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal in Agra has always been an attraction to tourists. Take this trip the coming weekend to experience the eternal love Shah Jahan had for his Begum.

Best time to visit- November to March is the best time to visit this city. The weather is pleasant and Taj Mahal looks more beautiful in little fog during the day.

Trains/buses- Bhopal Shatabdi, Punjab Mail and Toofan Express are the most popular trains among over 30 trains running between the two cities. It would be a 4-5 hours journey. One of the most exotic trains of India, The Maharaja Express is also available for you to take this journey. If you are going by bus or car, The Yamuna Expressway from Greater Noida to Agra has reduced the travel time to 2 hours.

Taj Mahal in Agra

  • Udaipur

Heading to Rajasthan for a short trip from Delhi will bring you closer to royalty. The Monsoon Palace, Bagore ki Haveli, the Lake Palace and various other forts will take you to the times of kings. A horse or camel ride all over the city or shopping in the various flea markets are the major attractions of Udaipur. Visit this city to witness the glorious past of India.

Best time to visit- Avoid visiting Udaipur in summers. Visit the city during November to February.

Trains/buses- H Nizamuddin Mewar Express and Chetak Express are the two trains available that will take you to Udaipur in 12 hours. A bus journey almost takes similar time and buses are running throughout the day. Since the time is same, you can choose the more comfortable journey and time.

  • Haridwar – Rishikesh

Being one of the ancient cities of the country, Haridwar is a Hindu pilgrimage place. The Ganga Aarti at the famous Ghat Har ki Pauri will bring you peace that you have longed for. Rishikesh is a spot for adventure activities like Ziplining, Rock Climbing, river water rafting and is also India’s only Bungee Jumping spot.

Best time to visit- September to early November and March- April are the best months.

Trains/buses- The best option for you will be going via train from Delhi to Haridwar. Udaipur Haridwar Express and New Delhi Dehradun Shatabdi are the best trains that will take you to Haridwar in 6-7 hours. Enjoy there and then take a 1.5-hour bus ride to Rishikesh. The buses run between the two cities hourly.

Har ki Pauri in Haridwar

  • Mussoorie

Summers in Delhi get unbearable at times. People often feel like running away to a cooler city and then Mussorie ends up as the perfect destination. Mussoorie, popularly known as the Queen of Hills, is a famous Hill station in Uttarakhand known for its lush green fields and scenic views. This place is a perfect mix of nature and colonial monuments. The considerable fascinations are Kempty Falls, Lake Mist, Lal Tibba, Paragliding & Trekking.

Best time to visit- If you want to witness pleasant weather then April-June will be the best. To witness snowfall, you can plan a trip in winters. Avoid August- September because it is the time of heavy rains there.

Trains/buses- If you want to go by train, you will have to take a 6-hour train journey to Dehradun and opt for a bus or taxi ride for an hour to reach Mussoorie. If you want to go directly then take a bus from Delhi and you will be at Mussoorie in almost 12 hours.

Popularly known as the “Brajbhoomi”, Mathura is the place where Hindu Lord Krishna was born and grew up. This place is rich in mythology and is situated on the bank of Yamuna. You can have temple visits and sightseeing over there. The major inclinations of this place are Krishna Janma Bhoomi Mandir, Kusum Sarovar, Government Museum, Prem Mandir, etc.

Best time to visit- You can visit Mathura anytime during the year. However, to witness Lathmar Holi near Mathura and Janmashtami festivities and witness the cultural beauty of India, visit during these festivals.

Trains/buses- There are more than 60 trains to choose from; Taj Express, Bhopal Shatabdi, and Punjab Mail being the most popular ones to let you reach Mathura in less than 3 hours. 3-4 hour bus or car ride can also take you to Mathura.
