Storytel India brought the concept of storytelling to life by the beautiful narration of stories by incredible voice artists. To celebrate “World Storytelling Day”, Storytel India hosted an event which saw a gathering of literary enthusiasts who were enchanted to have a first-ever live listening experience of this kind. The environment was full of interesting narrations from the upcoming stories.
The two stories narrated at the event were Samit Basu’s ‘Adventures of Stoob’ which focused on Stoob’s character of an average and easy-going student until one day the school principal announces a surprise examination and Rashmi Nambiar’s ‘Jugnuye’ which talked about 3 women and their struggle from Ranchi’s servant quarters to Delhi. Both the stories are available on the Storytel mobile application for listeners to experience and enjoy.
The storytelling session saw people come together and share the love they have for literature and books. Talking about the event, Mr. Yogesh Dashrath, Country Manager, Storytel India said, “In just a few months of our entry in India, we have reached a count of 7000 books. Also, we are happy to see such a great response to our storytelling events. The interest it has generated only strengthens our belief that Indians love books – no matter what the format.”
Towards this, they have recently signed up with Rajkamal Prakashan as their first Hindi partners. Storytel customers can now exclusively listen to the popular collection from Rajkamal as audiobooks on the Storytel app. The catalogue currently houses more than 500 audio titles including 230+ Marathi titles, 115+ Hindi titles apart from English ones which means Storytel is also focusing on the Regional Content which can reach more Consumers in India.
