Every year in January three day long Torgya festival is celebrated at the Tawang Monastery. In this Monastic festival the monks performs dance called Chham wearing their traditional attire Cham-lang. This festival is celebrated to chase out the evil spirit and bring prosperity and happiness for people and crops. In February-march Losar festival is celebrated to commemorate the Tibetan New Year. The Monpa men wear Tibetan Chugba and the women wear red coloured gown called Shingka and perform Pantomime dances.
