Nestled in the western part of the Guwahati in Assam, the Kamakhya temple stands as an embodiment of ‘shakti’. It is one of the important shakti peethas in India. Therefore, it is one of the revered shrines of shakti in the country. This temple holds tremendous historic and archaeological significance. It has the fiery Nilanchal hills peeping across its massive dome. The Ambubachi festival is celebrated at the time of monsoon here.

 

How to reach?

One can hire taxi or auto rickshaw from anywhere in Guwahati. There are also buses plying to and fro from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

As the name suggests, this beautiful temple is visited by the devotees of the Hindu gods, Radha and Krishna Ji. It is situated in the attractive city of Manipur. The temple is carved out of red bricks and flaunts the grace of rectangular medieval style of architecture. Idol of Lord Krishna along with his consort is placed in the central chamber. A variety of festivals are celebrated here with a splendid display of the Manipuri dance.

 

How to reach?

One can reach Imphal, the capital city of Manipur, via Air(Indian Airlines connect with major cities), road(National highway no.39 or 53) or railways(Dimapur is the nearest railhead).

Located in the Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya, the Nartiang Durga Temple stands as one of the holiest places for the devotees of Shakti cult of Hinduism. Goddess Durga is the prime deity worshipped here. The temple is built on the top of a hill and resembles a thatched roof house in architecture. The Durga Puja is celebrated here with much joy and fervor.

 

How to reach?

Nartiang is around 65 kilometers from Shillong towards the East.

Kirateshwar Mahadev temple is an illustrious pilgrimage site located on the edges of the river Rangit in Sikkim. There are separate platforms to worship Lord Rama, Lord Shiva, and Goddess Durga. The prime attractions of this temple are the Mahashivratri and Bala Chaturdashi. The temple is situated amidst the glorious nature away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

 

How to reach?

It is located at a distance of 20 km from Pelling. One can board a taxi from Pelling to reach the temple.
